Rainy Milo – Bankrobber

Remember Rainy Milo? This sweet British teenager took our hearts with last year’s Limey EP and now she is back with a fresh song Bankrobber which will appear on her new release Black & Blonde, planned for the 22nd of April.

The track is a cover of The Clash’s hit and it is definitely more expressive with its strong vocal than Milo’s previous songs. We have to wait few more days to find out whether this is how the whole EP will sound.

Pegasus Warning – Woof Ticket

Plug Research is definitely a good label to keep an eye on. Being a home for artists like Astrobal, Naytronix or Sonnymoon, they do not make any false moves there. Woof Ticket, debut EP from eccentric Pegasus Warning, is a perfect proof.

If you look at the list of names that Pegasus Warning (Guillermo E. Brown) has been working with throughout his career, it would serve as the best recommendation. Jamie Lidell, Das Racist, Saul Williams, The Temper Trap, Twin Shadow… Having so much experience, Brown was able to create an ideal mix of many different genres and influences on Woof Ticket. It is like all this electronic soul/r&b we have been getting for the last few years. But fresh. And better.

You can download Woof Ticket for free here.

Worshyper – Knot

Worshyper starts 2013 in a great way. On the 2nd of January, this Philadelphia-based trio (Marie Nicolo, Matt Hampson and Kevin O’Neill) has released the first track from their upcoming album which will be the follow-up to the excellent Happened EP they published last year. Knot is a proof that the band knows how to create an interesting pop song without the need to sound like everything else.

BenZel & Jessie Ware – If You Love Me

That is an interesting collaboration! Jessie Ware, one of the most successful new artists of 2012, has teamed up with two Japanese teenagers from Osaka (known under the name BenZel) to record a cover of Brownstone’s track from 1994 – If You Love Me. Simply beautiful.
