First version of The Beast was created back in 2009 during one of the drunk nights in Cape Town when Pierre-Henri van Pletzen (known as Yesterday’s Pupil) recorded an EP with his friend. Fortunately, he came back to this track some time later, reworked it andasked Tumi Molekane, one of the greatest South African rappers, to join. And the song proves that Tumi was an excellent choice, his verses perfectly flowing alongside Pletzen’s magnificent electronic beats.
The Beast was released in the beginning of this year as one of the two tracks included in the second part – called Duel! – of his album. As for today, there are three parts (of five planned) available for free download on YP’s official page.
