That is a huge new release – TEED’s debut album called Trouble has been out since this month!
After releasing bunch of singles and EPs over past three years, Orlando Higginbottom (that’s the man behind the project) finally has his full length album. Fortunately, Trouble is not like for example Niki & The Dove’s debut – it is something more than just a collection of tracks that have been already out. Of course, we have successful Household Goods and Garden as well as songs previously released on EPs (such as Trouble or Tapes & Money, the later including elements of 1978 song ‘One Nation Under A Groove’) but there is still something more – for instance fantastic tracks like opening Promises and closing Stronger.
Orlando travels through many genres – there is a bit of chillwave in You Need Me On My Own, there are some classic electro beats in American Dream Part II and still there are those 8-bit sounds (with above-mentioned Household Goods being a great example).
I am sure this will be one of the best albums of 2012. There are only few bands who can beat it. I will let you know if that happens.
Don’t forget to check out TEED’s live performances! They’re totally awesome!
